For improved client experience, logistics upstart Delhivery has formed a cooperation with Reliance-owned retail and apparel e-commerce site Ajio. According to an official release, the cooperation will address the problem of low-quality returned items and ensure that they are repurposed for sale.
To develop a strong footing in the e-commerce business, Reliance has made various strategic investments/partnerships with software firms, particularly in the grocery and fashion verticals.
Meanwhile, Delhivery announced a collaboration with Ajio to launch a technology-based Quality Check Return Product (QC-RVP).
The QC-RVP device allows Delhivery’s 26,000 Last Mile agents to do thorough quality inspections at the customer’s door before returning the package to Ajio. It has successfully raised the resaleability of returned goods from 25% to 98%, resulting in increased margins and less waste for Ajio.
Additionally, it reduced the client’s refund remittance time from 8 days to 24 hours, enhancing customer loyalty and satisfaction. Delhivery’s QC-RVP service allows customers to customize their doorstep quality inspection process by selecting from a list of over 20 characteristics. “For Ajio these include image test, brand, quantity, color, and EAN among others,” the company stated.
Amazon Fashion, Walmart-owned Myntra, and Tata Cliq have all been fierce competitors for Ajio in recent years.
“We have a long-standing partnership with Ajio as its logistics partner and are delighted to work with them to enhance the quality of their supply chain process. Our QC-RVP solution has resulted in a 130 percent jump in Ajio’s NPS (Net Promoter Score). At Delhivery, we constantly innovate to drive our clients’ business with our capabilities,” said Ajith Pai, Delhivery’s Chief Operating Officer.
According to Ashutosh Srivastava, COO of Ajio, Delhivery is a significant partner for Ajio on the logistics and supply chain leg of the consumer experience. We have harnessed overall goodness to drive consumer experience through combined innovation in technology and operational processes. “This has enabled better retention metrics for the platform. Customized/Consistent tech innovation & implementation on the ground makes Delhivery unique among all other Logistic partners. The introduction of the check and pick concept has helped Ajio to expedite swift customer refunds & faster inventory cycling,” Srivastava added.
