PM Modi will hold a review meeting with representatives from over 40 districts where Covid vaccination coverage is low.

On November 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will convene a review meeting with the district magistrates of over 40 districts with low Covid-19 immunization coverage after returning to the country from the G20 Summit and COP26.

Districts with less than 50% coverage of the first dose and low coverage of the second dose of Covid vaccination will attend the meeting.

In Jharkhand, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, and other states with low vaccination coverage, Prime Minister Modi will meet with district magistrates from over 40 districts.

The Chief Ministers of these states will also be in attendance at the review meeting, which will take place at noon through video conferencing.

The conference is crucial because the immunization campaign has been boosted by the availability of more vaccines, advanced notification of vaccine availability to states and union territories for efficient coordination, and streamlining of the vaccine supply chain.

The Centre has been helping the states and Union Territories by providing them with free Covid vaccines as part of the nationwide vaccination program.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the Centre will acquire and supply (at no cost) to the states and Union Territories 75 percent of the vaccines manufactured by the country’s vaccine makers in the new phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive.
