Paytm Payments Bank in collaboration with Mumbai Metro One Private Limited launches Paytm Transit Card

Today, One97 Communications Limited-owned Paytm Payments Bank Limited and Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) announced their collaboration on the Paytm Transit Card, which would enable users to travel by metro, bus, and train as well as make purchases at offline and online retailers.

Additionally, you can use this card to pay for parking and tolls.

The card complies with the National Common Mobility Card issued by the Indian government (NCMC). The one-stop solution card was introduced in 2019 with the intention of assisting customers in making payments for travel, toll fees, retail purchases, and cash withdrawals.

In response to the development, the spokesperson for Paytm Payments Bank said, “We are delighted to partner with Mumbai Metro One Private Limited for the launch of the Paytm Transit Card in the city. The all-in-one NCMC card will add unparalleled convenience to the lives of Mumbaikars who will be able to use it for all their daily travel needs.”

According to the spokesperson for Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL), he anticipates that everyone who travels would use this card and that it will “become very popular among Mumbaikars” who transact online.

The customer only needs to submit an online application for the Paytm Transit Card to take advantage of this service. Every step of the procedure is done digitally.

Users will have the choice to either have the card delivered to their door after a successful application or buy it from specified sales locations.

The Paytm Wallet, where users can simply top-up the wallet to use the transport card and do not need to create any other accounts, is immediately linked to the prepaid card, so all recharges and transactions can also be tracked online.

After FASTags, Paytm Transport Card is the PPBL’s second offering in the mass transit sector. More than one billion FASTags were deployed by the Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led company last year.
