Sanjay Khanna is appointed as the CEO of American Express

According to an announcement made on Monday by American Express Banking Corp. (AEBC), Sanjay Khanna has been appointed as the CEO and country manager of AEBC Corp. India. 

Khanna, who oversees the executive team for the nation at the moment, will now take the helm of key strategic and business development efforts for the company’s various companies in India. 

According to AEBC, “His position will be crucial to furthering and bolstering the company’s strategic focus in India.”

Rob McClean, executive vice president of American Express, noted that Sanjay has over 30 years of expertise in the field and that he has a natural talent for taking the initiative and leading from the front. 

“We are convinced that his dedication to excellence in all that he does, along with his strong morals and work ethics, will strengthen the brand’s position as the market leader in India,” McClean added.

In a statement regarding his appointment, Khanna noted that India’s economy is unquestionably one of the fastest growing in the world and is distinguished by its expanding consumer base, changing lifestyle, and increasing spending requirements. 

He claimed that American Express had a clear competitive advantage in offering high-quality service as a premium payment solution brand.

“To address the expanding needs of India’s wealthy population, my duty will be to further improve the quality and service culture through premium goods, services, and solutions. As one of the most reputable and trusted service brands in the world, I am overjoyed to begin this new position with American Express,” he continued.

Before his appointment, Sanjay served in a number of executive roles at the company including Chairman of the American Express India Pvt Limited (AEIPL) Legal Entity Board and Head of Global Financial Operations.
