Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy body.
We make an effort to consume as many nutrients as we can through food. Every year, the first week of September through the seventh is designated as National Nutrition Week.
It strives to raise awareness of the value of a well-balanced diet that contains all the nutrients our body needs for its many processes and the maintenance of our general health.
The Food And Nutrition Board of India, working under the direction of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, is in charge of the seven-day programme.
Theme of World Nutrition Week 2022
Every year, National Nutrition Week introduces a number of programmes to target a specific issue. This year’s theme is “Celebrate A World Of Flavours,” which replaces last year’s theme of “Feeding Smart Right From Start.”
History of Nutrition Week
In 1975, the American Dietetic Association (ADA), currently called the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, created National Nutrition Week.
In India, National Nutrition Week has been observed since 1982. The centre organises a number of events to spread awareness of the value of nutrition and the enhancement of general health through a healthy diet.
