Bharat Nutrition Week

Significance of Bharat Nutrition Week

National Nutrition Week is also known as Bharat Nutrition Week.

Celebrating a variety of flavours was this year’s National Nutrition Week theme for the year 2022.

This month, we should make an effort to honour the culinary traditions of various nations while also nourishing our bodies and respecting variety. It’s a fantastic time to choose to try new dishes and broaden one’s taste.

According to research, over 6,000 kids under the age of five perish in India every year. More than half of these deaths are a result of malnutrition, primarily from a lack of iron, iodine, zinc, vitamin A, and folic acid.

Malnutrition is one of the major issues in India. It demonstrates how extremes are common in India. Many youngsters lack access to enough food, resulting in their undernutrition.

On the other hand, the number of obese individuals in the country is rising.

Furthermore, despite the fact that many people are obese, they are nonetheless considered to be undernourished.

Fast food and other sugary foods make up bad diets, which lead to obesity while depriving the body of the nutrients it needs to function.

These circumstances have led to a large number of obesity cases, and those who are chronically underweight would also have a variety of health issues.

In the post-Covid age, the value of natural immunity has increased, and a healthy diet is the foundation of this immunity.

Every year from September 1 to September 7, India observes National Nutrition Week in order to spread awareness of the importance of a nutritious diet.
